This sewage treatment plant is part of the project “purification and treatment of water in Transcarpathia”.
Its objective will be to treat urban wastewater from a housing estate in the town of Khust, Ukraine.
This wastewater treatment plant plans to treat 35m3 / day pour 270 EH (Equivalent Habitant),using our biological purification process : The process UNIBIOCELL®️.
The COHIN ENVIRONNEMENT and COHIN CONSTRUCTION teams designed and built this C30 containerized Waste Water Treatment Plant – Waste Water Box from our standardized range in less than 2 MONTHS!
All wastewater is collected in a first buffer basin equipped with two lifting pumps (one in operation and one standby). It smoothes the peak flow and homogenizes the incoming pollution.
The effluent is then pumped to be sent to the biological reactor.
The treatment will be done via the containerized WASTE WATER BOX C station using a biological purification process (The UNIBIOCELL® process).
The UniBioCell® process is a proven treatment technique based on the degradation of pollution by microorganisms by aerobic means, i.e. with the supply of oxygen.
By stopping the aeration, it allows the denitrification of the effluent. Aeration is provided by fine bubble diffusers.
These diffusers are discs covered with an elastomeric membrane pierced with holes from which the air supplied by a compressor escapes.
The particularity of the process is to use a siphon controlled by automatic valves to discharge the treated effluent after the settling phase. The siphon requires no maintenance and has the decisive advantage of having no moving mechanical parts located inside the basin.
3.1 – Sludge dewatering
Dewatering makes it possible to initiate sludge treatment in order to:

Ensure optimal separation of water and matter
For the dewatering of the sludge produced by the biological treatment, a system based on the use of filter bags will be used.
The system is suitable for retaining suspended solids present in the sludge and allowing clear water to flow.
3.2 – Vermicomposting
After dehydration, the sewage sludge is sent to a composting unit (vermicompost) which transforms it into natural fertilizer thanks to compost worms.
They reproduce the natural process of the degradation of organic waste.
It is therefore an ecological and residue-free technology for sludge management.
